One of our favorite recent updates at our summer house in Aegina is the creation of a brand‑new green area right at the front of the house — designed especially with our smallest friends in mind.

While this green space isn’t made of natural grass, it’s been thoughtfully created to be a safe, clean, and practical area where children can sit, crawl, roll, and play freely on the ground. For families, this means peace of mind: kids can enjoy their playtime while parents and other family members relax nearby, always close enough to watch over them.

To make this possible, we added high‑quality technical (artificial) grass at the front of the house. The decision was a practical one — natural grass can be difficult to maintain, especially during the hot Aegina summers — but we didn’t want to compromise on beauty. The result? A space that always looks fresh, green, and welcoming, without constant watering or upkeep.

Beyond being child‑friendly, this new green area has quickly become a cozy gathering spot. It’s perfect for barefoot summer mornings, lazy afternoons in the shade, or simply enjoying the view with a coffee in hand while the kids play safely nearby. The soft surface makes it ideal for ground‑level activities and relaxed family moments.

We love how this small change has made such a big difference in how we use and enjoy our outdoor space. It blends functionality with aesthetics, giving us the best of both worlds: an area that’s easy to care for and still adds charm to our summer home.

Practical, safe, and beautiful — we think it turned out just right. What do you think?
